Driving moccasin
Soft moccasin with a sole made of rubber nubs, which often extend up over the heel. It was meant for driving; on long walks over pavement the nubs wear down quickly. It belongs with linen trousers, chinos and shorts in summer, worn without socks or with no-show socks. With wool trousers and a sport coat it is too casual.

From the Guide
- With flannel trousers in winter, suede penny and tassel loafers go well; Belgian loafers and driving moccasins are too summery for that.
- Brown suede loafers are the most versatile shoes: safe with light, gray, navy, taupe and olive trousers.
