About Stil
What is Stil?
Stil is a guide to a timeless men's wardrobe. It shows which basics such as an Oxford shirt, flannel trousers or penny loafers go together, builds small wardrobes with a shopping list from them, and lets you see the outfits on you, if you wish. No trends and no logos.
Who is Stil for?
For men who want to dress better without spending much time on fashion – for the office without a suit requirement, for the weekend and for occasions in between.
How do I dress better?
With three principles: fit before brand, a few good pieces instead of many mediocre ones, and calm colors such as navy, gray, white, light blue, beige and brown that mix almost freely. Shopping this way gets you many outfits from few pieces.

A small wardrobe of seven to nine pieces for one theme, such as your first office job or summer. The pieces are listed in the order to buy them, so that a first outfit exists after just three purchases and each further piece adds as many new ones as possible.

From the pair matrix: every pair of top, trousers, shoes, jacket and accessory is rated “safe”, “works” or “avoid”, by formality, season, color and material, each with a reason. An outfit counts as safe when all of its pairs are safe.

No. Stil shows basics and links to brands that make them well. Some shop links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, Stil receives a small commission and the price stays the same for you. This has no influence on the ratings in the matrix.

What can the studio do?
In the studio you put together an outfit from the catalog and see it as an image – laid flat, on a figure or on you with your photo. Stil tells you how safely the pairs fit and suggests dressier or more casual variants.
To the studioWhat does Stil cost?
The guide, wardrobes, catalog, lookbook and fit are free. Only images in the studio cost credits: 1 credit in standard quality, 3 in high quality. €10 gets you 50 credits. If an image fails, the credits are returned automatically.
How do I pay?
For now by PayPal. Afterward you report under “Me › Credits” that you have paid, and the credits are added by hand – you get an email as soon as they are there.
CreditsWhat happens to my photos?
Photos are resized in the browser and stripped of all metadata such as GPS and camera data. They are used only for your own images, can be deleted individually at any time and disappear with your account. For an image with your face, the photo is sent to the image model.
Which image models does Stil use?
Images with your face are generated by Google Gemini if you have agreed to that, otherwise by OpenAI GPT Image. Images without a face – flat lay and figure – are generated by OpenAI GPT Image.
Can I use Stil with ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes. Stil has an MCP server without sign-in, through which AI assistants can read the catalog, the pair matrix and the wardrobes.

Can I enter what I already own?
Yes. Under “Me” you mark which pieces from the catalog you already own. Stil then shows how many safe outfits you have from them and which piece would add the most new ones.
Do I need a suit?
For a business dress code, yes: jacket and trousers in one fabric, with a shirt and tie. Most offices only require business casual – a sport coat, shirt or knitwear and wool trousers are enough.
Dress codesHow do I find the right size?
With a few measurements: chest, waist, inseam and sleeve length, ideally measured by a second person. What doesn't fit quite right can often be altered by a tailor – hems and sleeves easily, shoulders hardly.
How to measureIs there a version of Stil for women?
Not yet. The catalog is a men's wardrobe.
