Chukka boot

Ankle-high lace-up shoe with open lacing and only two or three pairs of eyelets, usually in suede. A variant with a crepe sole is known as a desert boot. It is casual and goes with jeans, chinos and corduroy, also with an overshirt or knitwear. With worsted and suits it is too relaxed.

From the Guide

  • Boots need trousers with weight: safe with jeans, taupe, olive and brown. With light summer trousers they are too heavy.
  • Boots suit chinos in fall, not linen trousers in summer.
