Boat shoe
Moccasin construction with a leather cord running around the shoe as lacing, usually made of oiled smooth leather, with a light rubber sole with fine siping that grips on a wet deck. Originally made for the boat, it is now a summer shoe for chinos, linen trousers and shorts, worn without socks or with no-show socks. In brown or navy it looks calm; with wool trousers and a sport coat it is too casual.
