Rise
The distance from the crotch to the top edge of the waistband, which determines where trousers sit. A higher rise keeps the waistband at the waist, the shirt stays tucked in, and the leg looks longer; a low rise sits on the hip. A mid to higher rise is usual for tailored trousers and pleated trousers.
