Jeans
Trousers made of denim, a cotton twill with an indigo-blue warp and a light weft. They originated as work trousers in the USA. Dark, without wash and with a straight leg, they go with an Oxford shirt, knitwear, Chelsea boots or sneakers, also under a sport coat. See also selvedge denim.

From the Guide
- With jeans, white sneakers, boots and lace-ups are safe; suede and smooth leather loafers work.
- With jeans, on the other hand, black is safe, because denim has enough structure of its own.
- On top, white, gray, black and earth tones are safe. Navy and light blue are close to indigo and only work.
