What is Business Casual?
Business casual is what many offices without a suit requirement wear. A shirt without a tie or a fine sweater, with dress trousers in wool or cotton and leather shoes. A sport coat often belongs, a tie does not.
Typical
- Oxford or poplin shirt, merino sweater
- Wool trousers, gabardine trousers or chinos
- Loafers, derbys or Budapesters
- Sport coat that doesn't have to match the trousers
Better not
- T-shirt and sweatshirt
- Light sneakers and sandals
- Washed-out jeans (in some offices, any jeans)
- Tie without a sport coat
