Knit tie

Knitted tie, usually made of silk, with a straight end and visible texture. It is more casual than a woven silk tie and goes with an Oxford shirt, sport coat and flannel. Because of the voluminous knit, a simple knot is enough. With a dark suit at formal occasions, the woven tie is the better choice.
