Henley
Crewneck top without a collar, with a short button placket. Made of jersey or fine ribbed knit, it sits between a T-shirt and a sweater: more casual than a sweater, dressier than a T-shirt. It goes with jeans, corduroy and chinos, and works well under an overshirt.

From the Guide
- Black on top is the hardest color: safe only with jeans, with everything else at best “works”, and with navy trousers we avoid it.
- We avoid a black top with navy trousers.
- We avoid a black top with navy trousers: both tones are dark and too similar, so the difference looks like a mistake.
